Squid Manager 1.2 Released

For Immediate Release

Squid Manager

A new Mac OS X graphical interface for the open source Squid proxy server.

England, Europe - March, 2003 - Oliver Holme today announced the first public launch of Squid Manager for Mac OS X. Created for busy system administrators, Oliver's Squid Manager provides an intuitive Mac interface for managing the popular open source web proxy, Squid.

Squid Manager's interface allows you to just point and click to perform regular administration tasks. Available tasks include starting and stopping the proxy server, rotating log files and reloading the configuration file. Squid Manager provides this control through a user friendly interface, complete with keyboard shortcuts and a Dock menu.

Monitor the activity of your cache through Squid Manager's modern Aqua interface. View the latest entries and statistics from all of the server's log files within Squid Manager.

Squid Manager's close integration with Mac OS X delivers numerous useful features. Avoid searching through hidden folders deep in the Unix file system to find important Squid server files. Instead let Squid Manager do the hard work for you by revealing the files directly in the Finder. When you see an interesting log file entry, you can save a copy of the log to your Desktop for later analysis.

For peace of mind, Squid Manager periodically checks Squid's state so that you can easily identify if your proxy server stops unexpectedly. A glance at the Dock lets you know instantly if your proxy server is running or not.

Version 1.2 requires Mac OS X 10.2 (Jaguar) or higher and the Squid web proxy cache 2.0 or higher. Squid Manager supports Mac OS X Server and Mac OS X.
